Cavaliers snag franchise-record 16th straight win, eclipsing 15-0 start

MEMFIS, Tenn. – Evan Mobley has 22 points and 11 rebounds, Darius Garland adds 20 points and nine assists, and the Cleveland Cavaliers posted a 16-game winning streak on franchise records in a 133-124 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night.

De'andre Hunter scored 18 points and Jarrett Allen scored 16 points.

The victory overturned previous standards for Cleveland's successive victory in 15 this season.

Ja Morant led Memphis with a season-high 44 points, going with eight rebounds and seven assists. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke each finished with 13 points.

Jackson returned to the lineup with Cleveland after missing the previous five games with a sprain in his left ankle.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers played their second game without Donovan Mitchell due to pain in the left gro caliber.

Cavaliers: Cleveland has a solid hold on top spot in the Eastern Conference. It was also Cleveland's 26th Road victory, tied the second-best in the Cavaliers' singleseason history with the 2009-10 team.

Grizzlies: Memphis, who plays the Heat host on Saturday, struggled with most of the night's shooting, with only the rallies with reserves making the margins admirable.

Cleveland opened the second quarter with a 23-9 rally covered in Morant's departure that led to a breakaway by Javonte Green. Green missed the shot when he was fouled by Jackson.

Key Statistics

Cleveland, who cast a spell at home on Sunday, shot 53% in the first half. Memphis managed only four of 17 from the three-point range in the first two quarters, leaving the Cavaliers with a 75-58 lead in the half.
