The receiver has yet to report to camp, and while Prescott noted he is “ready to come back,” there are no signs that a deal will be done.
Especially given comments made today by Dallas owner Jerry Jones.
Speaking at Cowboys training camp, the owner indicated he offered Lamb a new contract last week.
But he also said:
Those comments reverberated across the NFL world, but while Cowboys fans may not care much about what the average sportswriter thinks about Jones’ comments, they might be interested in Lamb’s response.
It was pretty simple and to the point.
Prescott tried to stay on topic when asked about those comments, telling media gathered at Cowboys camp that it was “urgent” for Lamb to sign a new contract and report to camp, but that he didn’t think it would take long for the receiver to get acclimated.
He may be trying to communicate that urgency to his owner.
