Pacific Palisades fire destroys mountain homes

A wildfire in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles has destroyed an upscale residential area, including the property of celebrities, forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate.
The Palisades Fire, caused by strong Santa Ana winds, broke out in the Santa Monica Mountains late Tuesday morning and quickly engulfed 200 acres within an hour, reaching nearly 3,000 acres by sunset. FOX Weather reported.
Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fennessy appeared on “Fox News @ Night” on Tuesday to give an update on how firefighters are battling the fast-moving blaze, but he said firefighters are still trying to put out the fire. He said there was not much that could be done to stop the attacks, so firefighters were concentrating on: Evacuate and rescue anyone still in the area.
“Our main focus is to keep people and lives out of these fires,” Fennessy said. “There's not much we can do other than keep people away from these fires and try to attack them…Certainly in the Palisades, that's the story today.”

Reality TV star Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag started dating in The Hills, but lost their home in the Palisades fire, Pratt and Montag confirmed on their Snapchat accounts on Tuesday.
Pratt showed a series of videos showing the fire moving quickly over the hill and toward his home.
“Well, this isn't good,” Pratt said as he filmed a video of the fire in the area behind his home. “It was the first time I saw the flames coming. Oh, hey. All right, I think I'm going to go pack.”
He later posted a video from his car saying he watched his home burn down on a security camera.
Montag posted a video at the grocery store stating that his house was on fire but he was safe.

Actor Chris Pratt posted on X, asking people to join him in praying for “the brave firefighters who sacrificed so much to save our homes and our cities.”
“Jesus protect the lives of those fighting the flames and those who could not evacuate,” Pratt wrote.

Actress Denise Crosby said in a similar post to X that she and her husband and dog are safe, but she doesn't know if they have a home.
Crosby shared a video taken on the beach Tuesday night, and followed it up with a video from earlier in the day that showed smoke rising from the alley behind her home and from Sunset Boulevard. .
Actor James Woods posted a series of videos to X showing his home and a neighbor's home surrounded by smoke and flames. Woods said the family was safely evacuated from the area and praised first responders and community members who evacuated children from a nearby elementary school.
“To all the wonderful people who contacted us, thank you for your concern. We want to let you know that we were safely evacuated,” Woods wrote on X. is still there, but sadly the house on our little street is gone. ”
Professional dancer Derek Hough shared photos of the fire on his Instagram account and said he and his wife were preparing to evacuate their pets.
“Winds are reaching 100 miles per hour and we are packing and preparing to evacuate with our five animals just in case,” Hough wrote. “It's scary to see power lines exploding around you and the fire spreading quickly.”

Hough went on to thank the firefighters who “risked everything to keep us safe” and said he was sending prayers and love to all firefighters and victims. said.
