Celebrities in Hollywood Receive Enhanced Oscars Security Following FBI Alert About Potential Iranian Drone Attack

Increased Security at the Oscars Amid Drone Threats

This Sunday, security will be heightened at the Oscars as federal and local agencies, including the FBI and the Los Angeles Police Department, collaborate to safeguard the event from a potential Iranian drone attack.

According to a report from early February 2026, the FBI has indicated that Iran reportedly plans to use unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel near the U.S. coast to carry out surprise assaults against unspecified California targets, particularly if the United States attacks Iran. However, details about the timing, methods, and targets of this potential attack remain undisclosed.

In light of this warning, Raj Kapoor, the executive producer of the Oscars, expressed a commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of everyone involved in the ceremony, stating, “We want all attendees and fans to feel safe, protected, and welcome.” He emphasized the importance of their relationship with security agencies, acknowledging the significant responsibility resting on their shoulders.

Kapoor confirmed that his team is closely collaborating with the FBI and LAPD, adding that “The Academy has one of the best security teams in the business.” Meanwhile, the LAPD has reported that there are currently “no credible threats” to the Dolby Theatre, the venue for Hollywood’s biggest night.

In previous years, security measures at the Oscars have always been stringent. This year will be no exception, with a notable increase in safety protocols being reported.
