Super Bowl Party Tips from Cat Cora
SAN FRANCISCO — Celebrity chef Cat Cora is stepping in to help those planning a Super Bowl gathering this Sunday.
In an interview with the California Post, Cora shared her main tip for hosts wanting to impress guests during the Seahawks-Patriots game: “eat lots of good grazing food.” It seems straightforward, right?
“That’s definitely the key,” she emphasized. “Have lots of chips. Salsa, guac. Dips are a must. And things that are easy to grab, like hand-held snacks folks can walk around with.” It appears practicality is just as important as taste here.
She went on to note the benefits—cleanup is a breeze, serving is simple with big platters, plus it gives people time to kick back and enjoy the game. A bit of decoration helps too, she adds. And, don’t forget to prep some cocktails and mocktails in advance!
Cora suggested adding a fun DIY element, like a taco bar, to make it even easier for everyone to enjoy themselves. “It’s all about having fun, right?” she remarked.
She’ll be able to practice what she preaches, as she’ll be cooking at the “NFL Flavor” event in San Francisco on Saturday, joining other famous chefs.
She’s excited about taking over the stove for a few hours and is particularly looking forward to serving her famous buffalo chicken mac and cheese.
Cora also pointed out that the event will benefit GENYOUth—a group focused on ending hunger and food insecurity among students. Last year’s festival raised $2.2 million, and she hopes to surpass that number this time.
“I hope we can raise more money,” she said, clearly passionate about the cause. The Super Bowl Week event is set to begin at 4 PM Pacific time, and tickets are still available.
