Jaylen Brown was fined for what the NBA called an “inappropriate gesture.”
The Boston Celtics star put his thumb against his throat Wednesday after taking a dunk.
Brown made a two-handed dunk on Isaiah Stewart during a game against the Detroit Pistons and gestured in Stewart's direction.

Brown told the media after the 130-120 win over the Pistons that he expected to hear from the NBA about his actions.
Well, he was fined $25,000.
According to Spotrac, this is the second fine for “obscene gestures” in the NBA this season. Anthony Edwards was fined $35,000 for giving the middle finger.

Last year, players were fined for gestures that suggested referees had money at games, perhaps most notably Rudy Gobert. It cost $100,000.
Brown had 28 points and nine assists, and Kristaps Porzingis had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the Celtics to their ninth win in 10 games.
The Celtics held a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter, but Detroit hit four straight 3-pointers to get within eight points, 109-101, and Boston coach Joe Mazzula insisted on bringing Brown back. Ta.

The Pistons got within five points on Tobias Harris' 3-pointer in the final minute, but Peyton Pritchard's 3-pointer in the second half sealed the deficit.
