Central American Officials Complain They ‘Don’t Have Capacity’ to Take Back Illegals Deported by Trump

Central American officials have already complained that President-elect Donald Trump does not have the “capacity” to take potentially hundreds of thousands of their nationals from the United States as he carries out his historic deportation plan. It's leaking.

President Trump has tasked incoming border czar Thomas Homan with handling the deportation program, vowing to deport most of the country's 11 million to 22 million illegal aliens.

Central American officials told The Associated Press that Trump “does not have the ability” to bring back their citizens when he ultimately deports them.

Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador are 'unprepared' to handle the influx of their nationals who immigrated to the US illegally, says Associated Press report:

Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador have the second highest number of people living in the United States illegally after Mexico.Jason Hauser, who served as chief of staff for Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the Biden administration, said the country could be one of the first and hardest hit by mass deportations. Antonio Garcia, Honduras' deputy foreign minister, said “we do not have the capacity” to host so many people. “There is very little space here for deportees,” he said, and those who return “need to be taken care of at the end.” [Emphasis added]

about 560,000 Hondurans, about 5% of the country's population, live in the United States without legal status.according to US government statistics. Migration experts estimate that around 150,000 of these people could be tracked down and expelled quickly. [Emphasis added]

To pre-emptively counter President Trump's deportation plan, Senate Democrats are asking President Joe Biden to issue several protections for most illegal aliens to prevent future administrations from deporting them. requires the signing of an executive order.

In less than four years, the Biden administration has overseen the arrival of nearly 8 million migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border. About 85% of migrants arriving at the border under the Biden administration have been released into the interior of the United States, according to a congressional report.
