DOJ drops charges against Utah doctor accused of throwing away COVID vaccines, distributing fake vaccination cards

Justice Department Dismisses Charges Against Utah Doctor

The Justice Department has decided to drop the charges against the doctors from Utah Plastics involved in a Covid-19 fraud case, as announced by Attorney General Pam Bondy on Saturday.

Michael Kirk Moore Jr. and three associates were indicted back in January 2023. They faced accusations of improperly discarding over $28,000 worth of government-supplied Covid-19 vaccines and distributing around 2,000 fake vaccine cards in return for cash or so-called “donations.”

Additionally, the indictment claimed that Moore and his colleagues administered saline shots to children, under parental request, making them believe they were receiving the Covid-19 vaccine instead.

The trial had commenced in Salt Lake City about a week ago, but on Saturday, Bondy confirmed that the DOJ would be dismissing the charges.

“At my direction, the charges against Dr. Kirk Moore have been dismissed,” Bondy shared on social media platform X.

“Dr. Moore offered patients an option when the federal government refused to provide one,” she added. “He shouldn’t have faced the year in prison that loomed over him. That’s over now.”

This situation has resonated strongly with many in the GOP, particularly those opposing allegations that originated during the Biden administration.

Moreover, Bondy is currently facing growing pressure from members of Trump’s far-right support base concerning the handling of cases linked to the disgraced investor Jeffrey Epstein.

A memo released by the DOJ on Monday stated that there was no evidence of a so-called client list allegedly tied to Epstein, countering widespread conspiracy theories. The memo also indicated no findings suggesting foul play in Epstein’s previously ruled suicide.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) publicly thanked Bondy for dropping the charges against Dr. Kirk Moore, referring to him as a “hero” who resisted administering vaccines that were not government-mandated.

“We must prevent our government from becoming tyrannical again,” she stated. “I let Pam Bondy know about Dr. Moore’s case, and she acted fast to halt the charges. This is a significant victory!”

Bondy recognized Greene’s influence in the decision, saying, “This wouldn’t have happened without @RepMTG, who brought this to my attention. She was a true advocate for Dr. Moore and helped end the government’s misuse of power.”

She also expressed gratitude towards Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah), commending him as “a champion for insisting on ending the government’s misuse of authority concerning Dr. Moore.”
