When Joe Biden was running for president in 2020, he told Charlamagne the God on “The Breakfast Club” that if you didn't vote for him, “you're not black.”
Whether that interaction resonated with Charlamagne and whether he plans to vote for Kamala Harris or Donald Trump, his take on who Trump is and what he stands for. It certainly seems that things are changing.
This was revealed when Charlamagne interviewed Lara Trump on her popular show.
“If you look back at the history of Donald Trump, we were at Al Smith's dinner last night, and he was next to Chuck, and he was, obviously, a Democratic senator. “I said to Chuck Schumer, 'I gave Chuck his first ever check,'” Lala told the radio host.
“I don't like the optics,” Charlamagne replied. “The only reason I don't like that perspective is when you hear people like Chuck Schumer saying things like, 'Trump is a threat to democracy,' and you're sitting next to him, Are you going to pick a fight with someone who you think is a threat to democracy?”
“Well, you have to ask yourself that question, don't you?” Lara replied. “Maybe it's all fear tactics. Maybe it's fear mongering. Charlamagne, all I can say is that I know Donald Trump. I know him. I've known him for 16 years, and I think Chuck Schumer has known him for much longer than I have, and he knows very well that he is not a threat to our democracy.”
“You don't have to take my word for it,” she continued, adding, “Look at what he did when he was in the White House.”
Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report is excited about the exchange.
“The reason I like that clip, other than the purely political part, is that what's going on here is just the plaque being pulled back, or the curtain being pulled back. , because I think everyone's watching to see how the game goes,' will be played,'' Rubin says.
“No one believes that Chuck Schumer hates Donald Trump, or at least that he's Hitler,” he added.
