Charles Barkley crushes Lakers’ ‘awful’ handling of Bronny James

There are many critics of the way the Lakers organization has handled Bronny James.

Now we can add one more thing.

Charles Barkley called it “terrible” when discussing how the organization has handled the development of star player LeBron James' eldest son.

The Lakers opted to have Bronny play home games in South Bay, part of the NBA G League, and later recall him to the NBA when the developmental team went on the road.

The kid isn't ready to play in the NBA. He should be in the G League so he can play basketball,'' Barkley said during an appearance on “The Bettor Angle'' over the weekend.

“And he's only going to play home games. That's stupid, it's unfair to him, it's unfair to the team. Can you imagine being the coach of that team? Coming back from a road trip and saying, “You have a player that you haven't seen for a week or two, and you probably feel like you have to play against him,” he continued. “I don't think they're doing Bronny any favors. They handled this very badly. It's a bad outlook for the Lakers. I really like everything LeBron has done. But it's a bad look for him [too]in my opinion. “

Bronny has appeared in six games for the Lakers this season, averaging 0.7 points in 2.3 minutes per game.

Bronny, who is inferior to South Bay, has appeared in two games with the G League club, averaging 5.0 points and 3.0 assists in 28.5 minutes.

The Lakers face a number of questions about potential nepotism in their decision to draft Bronny after just one season at USC and concerns about his readiness to turn pro.

Those questions have only gotten bigger since the Lakers' plans to sign Bronny became public.
