Memorable Moments in the 2024 Formula 1 Season
The 2024 Formula 1 season had its share of unforgettable moments.
One standout occurred at last year’s Monaco Grand Prix, where local favorite Charles Leclerc finally secured his first victory there after enduring years of disappointment at home.
However, Leclerc isn’t optimistic about replicating that success this time around.
Speaking at a recent FIA press conference, Leclerc seemed to temper expectations going into the weekend.
“Honestly, our car hasn’t performed well in slow corners, which is a concern,” Leclerc remarked regarding his chances at the Monaco race. “Monaco is packed with slow corners, so, on paper, it doesn’t seem like the best track for us. But Monaco’s uniqueness means we can still be surprised, so we’ll see how it goes during practice tomorrow.”
He emphasized the significance of qualifying, calling it a key aspect of the weekend’s success. “If things click, I’d love to see how we do come Saturday. But it’s going to be tough based on what we know.”
Leclerc acknowledged that Monaco is one of the venues where drivers can truly make a difference.
Despite the challenges, he believes there are opportunities this week due to his past success on the street circuit.
Leclerc turned his luck around last year on the streets where he learned to drive. However, based on his comments, it seems that he might need a bit more luck to stand atop the podium again at the Monaco Grand Prix this year.
