Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, has raised alarms about the increasing “assassination culture” associated with the left, following a recent shooting incident while he was addressing students on a Utah college campus.
“The culture of assassination is spreading on the left,” Kirk remarked in a post, referencing data from the Network Contación Research Institute. According to their findings, nearly half of liberals believe that killing someone like Elon Musk is at least somewhat justified, with a similar percentage feeling this way about Donald Trump.
He noted that in California, activists have pushed for voting measures following claims made against Luigi Mangione, who has been linked to allegations against a UnitedHealthcare executive. “The left seems to be caught in a cycle of violence,” he mentioned. “Any setback, be it a lost election or a legal defeat, seems to warrant a violent reaction.”
Conservative activists describe this trend as part of a broader leftist protest culture that has tolerated chaos and violence for years.
Kirk was shot in the neck in front of a crowd at Utah Valley University. The FBI confirmed on the same day that a suspect is now in custody.
Kirk was quickly taken to a local hospital, where reports state he required a blood transfusion before ultimately succumbing to his injuries.
Former President Donald Trump reacted to the news, expressing his sorrow over Kirk’s death and praising his impact on the youth of America. “Charlie understood America better than anyone,” Trump stated, emphasizing his condolences to Kirk’s family.
FBI Director Kash Patel also noted that investigators would be present at the scene, ensuring continued support for the response efforts.
In light of the shooting, Utah Valley University officials have suspended all classes and advised students to remain in a safe location until they can be escorted by police.
Live coverage of the situation is ongoing, and further updates are expected.
