Charlie Puth Performs National Anthem at Super Bowl V

Charlie Puth had the honor of singing the national anthem at Super Bowl V, held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. His performance received a warm reception from football fans on social media, many of whom praised him.

Despite facing criticism for past performances, this time fans seemed to think he nailed it. One user on X shared their admiration, saying, “Charlie Puth really killed it.” Another added some personal flair, stating, “He sang it like he was in a Baptist church, mixed with a touch of 80’s RnB. Definitely one of my favorites.”

Interestingly, even those who aren’t typically fans of Puth’s style expressed their surprise at his performance. One commenter noted, “Charlie Puth is a great musician, even if I’m not into his usual sound. Maybe a bit over-produced for my taste, but he did well.” However, not everyone was pleased; some felt he used too much autotune, which detracted from the experience.

One user bluntly stated, “Charlie Puth is fire, but the sound engineer who overdid it with the autotune should find another job.” This sentiment was echoed by others who believed he had enough talent to deliver the anthem without so much technological enhancement.

As Puth concluded his rendition, spectators were treated to an impressive flyover by a combined formation of U.S. Air Force and Navy aircraft, marking a significant moment in this year’s Super Bowl—a celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Moreover, both competing teams wore patches on their uniforms to honor this milestone. Before the kickoff, there was a striking display of large flags on the field, with fans holding up posters crafted to resemble the Stars and Stripes.

With Puth’s performance setting the tone, the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots soon began their battle for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, marking the culmination of the 2025 NFL season.
