Charlie Sheen Claims Bill Clinton Tried to Pursue His Girlfriend in the ’80s
In his new memoir, *The Book of Sheen*, Charlie Sheen shares an intriguing anecdote about former President Bill Clinton, revealing that the politician attempted to move in on his girlfriend back in the 1980s.
At 60 years old, Sheen reflects on a memorable encounter with the 79-year-old Clinton, who was the governor of Arkansas at the time. He recalls a small group, including his co-stars Alan Luck and Kelly Green, being invited to the governor’s mansion for a photo opportunity. Sheen’s girlfriend, actress Dolly Fox, accompanied them on the trip.
“It was pretty surreal,” Sheen wrote. “Governor Clinton gifted me red and white Razorback shoes, and I made a point of wearing them to model the Arkansas sports mascot.”
Interestingly, Luck, who appeared alongside Sheen in *Ferris Bueller’s Holiday*, mentioned that Clinton had shown interest in Fox during the outing. “When Luck overheard Clinton whispering to an aide to find out what he could do about the brunette, he was referring to Dolly,” Sheen explained. “Alan still swears it’s an accurate quote.”
Although Sheen felt uncomfortable with the objectification of his girlfriend, he couldn’t help but feel a bit flattered. “It made me feel bad for Dolly, but I still took pride in the ‘Bubba’ admiring my girl,” he remarked. “That night, Alan gave Dolly the gossip from the bar, and she just laughed it off, which was pretty flattering.”
Representatives for both Clinton and Luck were reached for comments but did not respond.
Sheen reflected on the complexity of his relationship with Fox, mentioning that their split had been amicable and stemmed from his own issues rather than any external drama. He described their breakup as “peaceful,” noting that he had finally acknowledged some of his indiscretions.
Clinton, who has been married to Hillary Clinton since 1975, shares a daughter, Chelsea, with her. The late ’90s brought controversy for Clinton due to his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky, which led to a scandal involving perjury and obstruction of justice. Despite this, he was acquitted by the Senate.
In his memoir, Sheen draws parallels between his own life and that of Clinton, recalling that during his time in rehab in the late 1990s, he shared stories about Clinton and Fox with others in the program. “No one believed me when I recounted it,” Sheen noted with a hint of disbelief.
Sheen’s memoir was released on September 9, and he also has a documentary series, *aka Charlie Sheen*, available on Netflix starting September 10. In the book, he covers a range of topics from his Hollywood upbringing to his marriage troubles and struggles with addiction.
