Charlie Woods Struggles Amid Camera Disruptions at U.S. Junior Amateur

Charlie Woods, son of the legendary Tiger Woods, found himself in a tense moment during the U.S. Junior Amateur on Tuesday.

As he approached a pivotal playoff shot, he abruptly addressed a fan snapping pictures, asking, “Are you sure?” Another bystander quickly chimed in, pointing out, “You’re in the middle of a swing.”

During this playoff, there were 14 golfers tied at 5 over after two rounds at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Only two of them would qualify for the next match play stage. This format resembled an NCAA Tournament bracket with 64 players.

From reports shared online, it appears the disruption occurred on the first hole of the playoff. Woods needed a birdie to advance to the next round, but he ended up bogeying the hole after the photo interruption, which was unfortunate.

At just 17 years old, Woods is gearing up to start his college journey at Florida State University, although his current amateur ranking sits at No. 1,841.

Aside from dealing with the distractions from the crowd, Charlie also had a moment of frustration captured on camera when he cursed after hitting a poor tee shot on the par-3 11th hole.

Being Tiger Woods’ son, of course, brings its own set of pressures as Charlie navigates his way in the sport.

Despite the ups and downs, he has a decent resume, including a win at the Team Taylor Made Invitational in May 2025. He shares this journey with his sister, Sam, who is currently attending Stanford, following in their father’s illustrious footsteps.
