Charlize Theron Brushes Aside Johnny Depp at Paris Fashion Week

At Paris Fashion Week, Charlize Theron seemed to overlook her former co-star Johnny Depp. A social media video suggested that she deliberately snubbed the 62-year-old during the Dior show, even though they worked together in the 1999 sci-fi film *The Astronaut’s Wife*.

Instead, Theron greeted Brigitte Macron, spouse of French businessman Bernard Arnaud and President Emmanuel Macron. This interaction further fueled speculation about her apparent disregard for Depp.

The X account that posted the clip noted that Theron had previously “liked” an Instagram post criticizing Depp’s return to the public eye after a contentious trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard. A fan commented on the video, observing how Depp seemed to feel the cold shoulder as Theron walked past him.

Some sources suggested that, as depicted in the video, the event was quite busy, which might explain why Theron didn’t acknowledge Depp.

Representatives for both actors had been contacted for comments regarding the situation.

It’s interesting to note that both Theron and Depp are affiliated with Dior, with Theron serving as the face of the brand’s J’adore perfume from 2004 to 2024, while Depp has been the face of Dior’s Sauvage fragrance since 2015.

Depp had recently signed a lucrative seven-figure deal with Dior soon after winning a defamation lawsuit against Heard in 2022. Their highly publicized legal issues began when Heard’s op-ed in *The Washington Post* alluded to accusations of domestic abuse.

In the end, the jury awarded Depp $10.35 million, while Heard received $2 million in her countersuit. Although she initially planned to appeal the verdict, she later settled by agreeing to pay Depp $1 million.

The turmoil surrounding their relationship led to Depp’s removal from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the *Fantastic Beasts* franchise, a role he was replaced in by Mads Mikkelsen in the 2022 film *Dumbledore’s Secrets*.

“They told you to resign,” Depp remarked in a July interview, implying that he felt pressured to step away from the franchise.

Since the conclusion of the trial in June 2022, Depp has gradually returned to the limelight. His most recent film was the French production *Jeanne du Barry*, where he portrayed Louis XVI, and he is set to lead in the upcoming film *Day Drewser*, featuring Madeline Klein and Penelope Cruz.
