1. Kalahari Resort (multiple locations)
Kalahari Resorts has multiple locations including the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, Round Rock in Texas, Sandusky in Ohio, and Wisconsin Dells in Wisconsin.
Additional locations are set for a 2026 opening in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
All Kalahari resorts embody an African theme. These parks are some of the largest in the country and offer a wealth of attractions, dining, and shopping experiences to keep guests busy during their stay.
2. Great Wolf Lodge (multiple locations)
There are currently 22 Great Wolf Lodges across the country, with more in the works.
It’s the perfect getaway for families to escape the winter chill.
There are plenty of exciting water activities for kids of all ages, and after a long day in the lazy river, you can relax on the slide.

3. Massanutten Resort, Virginia
This Virginia resort is located in Massanutten and offers breathtaking mountain views.
After enjoying winter fun like skiing and snow tubing, head to the water park for some thrills.
According to the resort’s website, once you step into Massanutten Indoor Waterpark, the cold disappears as the space is constantly heated to 84 degrees.
This water park has a little bit of everything, including body slides, tube slides, relaxing rapids, and a children’s play area.
4. Wilderness Resort, Wisconsin
Wilderness Resort consists of four water parks: Klondike Cavern, Wild Waterdome, Wild West, and Cubby’s Cove. All these sections offer a variety of attractions for guests. Klondike Caverns has a variety of body slides and a relaxing lazy river, while Wild Water Dome has a giant wave pool.
There is also a swim-up bar where adults can enjoy refreshing drinks.
5. Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, Texas
This Texas indoor water park has plenty of pools with racing slides and floats.

Epic Waters also includes a Flowrider where you can learn how to boogie board and surf.
6. Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark, Wisconsin
This Wisconsin water park has an exciting playground for the little ones in your family and an activity pool with obstacles and games for the older kids.
Relaxing in the hot tub and traveling down the canyon river are also popular attractions.

7. Wilderness of the Tennessee Smokies
Wild Waterdome is an indoor water park section located in the Smoky Mountains wilderness.

The lazy river at Wild Water Dome is unique, with a kaleidoscope-like atmosphere.
The park also has the Ridge Runner water coaster if you’re looking for some thrills during your vacation.

This water park is a great spot to take your little ones on a winter getaway. Splash Lagoon has plenty of facilities to keep your child busy all day long, including a pool, splash pad, and treehouse.
