President Donald Trump was welcomed with massive cheers in Philadelphia on Saturday and took part in the NCAA Men's Division I Wrestling Championship.
The crowd stood up and sincerely praised Trump as he stood on the event floor, swinging into Wells Fargo Arena and waving to the onlookers for about a minute.
Broadcasting station ESPN has paused an interview with national champion Carter Stark and cut it to the president's epic entrance.
When Trump took his seat, the crowd chanted “America, America.”
Trump was accompanied by Doge Chief Elon Musk and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).
Jordan won two NCAA Division I men's wrestling titles as a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and later served as the wrestling assistant coach at Ohio State.
Two of the sport's biggest stars were excited that the president would attend the final match.
“We're going to do a good show for him. He's coming out on Saturday night and he's coming to see some of the best wrestling on the planet, and we're going to give him that,” Minnesota Gophers heavyweight Gable Steveson said at a York Daily Records press conference on Wednesday.
Pennsylvania's Stark, who became the first five-time Division I national champion on Saturday, was also pumped out for Prez to attend.
“I'm looking forward to it,” he told the paper Wednesday. “[President Trump] I came to the Nationals in my sophomore year and it was really cool. He is clearly a huge fan of combat sports and he is in all UFC events. It's good for our sport. ”
