Cherished Arizona pastor discovered deceased in bed, arms extended and hands secured to a wall in unsettling circumstance.

An Arizona pastor, Rev. William “Bill” Shaneman, was found dead in his home, his arms stretched out on the bed and his hands apparently secured to the wall. This unsettling scene was discovered on April 28 after a 911 call was made to the local sheriff’s office.

Authorities are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding his death, which they suspect may involve serious injuries. Prosecutors have already classified it as a homicide.

While they have not disclosed any potential suspects or motives, a deputy from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office noted signs of foul play at the scene. They are taking steps to maintain the integrity of the investigation, citing it as a particularly unique case.

Community members have expressed growing concerns, with some feeling uneasy about their safety following the incident. A neighbor remarked on the unusual experience of locking doors at night, indicating a shift in their sense of security. Another local expressed disbelief, highlighting the size of the community and questioning why someone would target a pastor.

Randall Schoenman, the son of the deceased, emphasized that his father had no known conflicts with anyone and was widely respected in the community. He had led the New River Bible Chapel for close to 25 years, leaving behind fond memories and a positive influence on many.

Randall shared how much his father’s absence will be felt, recalling his creativity and ability to bring joy to others. The community is mourning the loss of a figure who had touched many lives.
