Four Venezuelan immigrants were arrested Saturday for allegedly robbing and beating a man on a CTA train in Chicago.
Chicago police identified the men as Fernando Royo Rodriguez, 22. Wilker Gutierrez Sierra, 21 years old. Carlos Carreno Carreno, 20 years old. and Yonie Guasamkare Garcia, 18 years old.
Police say the four men robbed and beat a 49-year-old man on a CTA train in the 2000 block of South Kostner Street. The man lost consciousness, but he later recovered.

Police arrested the four suspects in the 2000 block of S Pulaski Rd just before 5:30 p.m., less than 45 minutes after the robbery and assault.
Responding officers located and detained four men and charged each with robbery and aggravated assault/strangulation.
Bail hearings for the four men, identified as Venezuelan immigrants, were scheduled for Monday.

The four people revealed their address as an immigrant shelter run by the city.immigration expert told WGN9 Three of the four defendants could be deported if convicted of felonies.
Chicago police did not confirm their legal status or legal addresses to Fox News.
Since August 2022, the city of Chicago has accepted 35,000 immigrants from the southern border by bus or plane. Of those, 13,000 were moved to evacuation centers at taxpayer expense.

The governor and Cook County commissioners asked the state Legislature for an additional $250 million to address the crisis after the city of Chicago spent nearly twice that amount.
