With just over a week to go until the Democratic National Convention (DNC) begins in the Windy City, a brazen group of thieves took to the streets of Chicago and ransacked luxury retailer Prada.
According to Chicago police, a group of three to four assailants smashed through the glass front doors of the luxury retailer at 5:30 a.m. local time on Saturday.

Police said the group fled in a white SUV and authorities are still searching for them.

The Prada theft is part of an ongoing and disturbing crime trend in Chicago, and comes as an estimated 50,000 tourists descend on the city for the Democratic National Convention from August 19-22.

According to FOX 32, road and sidewalk renovations are underway to separate the convention area from the general public.
Authorities have also imposed strict measures on people living and working within the safety zones, including vehicle inspections.
