Chiefs’ Isaiah Buggs Allegedly Broke Into Home of Child’s Mother with Tire Iron, Dragged Her Down Stairs

Chiefs defensive end Isaiah Buggs has once again found himself in trouble with the law.

Buggs, 27, was arrested in Tuscaloosa on Sunday after he allegedly used a tire iron to break into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment, then grabbed the woman by her hair and dragged her down the stairs, according to court documents.

The five-year NFL veteran was “arrested on felony charges of second-degree domestic violence and second-degree theft. He was released early Monday morning. Bail was set at $5,000,” Al.com reports.

The victim had scratches on his body and several clip-on fingernails had fallen out.

A neighbor assisted authorities in the investigation after video footage they took showed Buggs at the apartment, and police eventually found his white Cadillac at a Little Caesars, where they arrested him.

Buggs denies the robbery allegations and was released on Monday morning after serving a 24-hour detention period on the domestic violence charge.

However, because Buggs had already been charged with animal cruelty, a charge that came with a condition that he not have broken any laws, prosecutors successfully argued to revoke Buggs’ bail.

As a result, the Chiefs defender was remanded to county jail on Monday night.

Buggs was arrested in May after a neighbor called authorities to report two “severely emaciated” dogs kept in cages on his property in Tuscaloosa.

Buggs, a sixth-round pick by the Steelers in 2019, has played for the Raiders and Lions and is currently signed with the Chiefs.
