Chiefs’ Rashee Rice ‘cooperating with local authorities’ after Dallas car crash: report

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Lachie Rice is cooperating with authorities in Texas after he was allegedly involved in a traffic accident over the weekend.

A statement from his attorney, Texas State Sen. Royce West, who represents the 23rd District, was provided to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“On behalf of Laci Rice, I extend his thoughts to all those affected by Saturday’s car accident,” West said in a statement.

“Mr. Lacey is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to responsibly address this situation. All requests for comment should be directed to his attorneys, West & Associates LLP. You can address it to Mr. Lois West.”

Authorities were searching for Rice after a “major” car crash on the North Central Expressway on Saturday night around 6:20pm local time. Law enforcement told The Dallas Morning News that a vehicle leased or registered to Rice was involved in the car crash.

Drive recorder footage of the accident scene was also captured on the expressway. Video obtained by FOX 4 Dallas shows Bill Neighbors’ car camera showing the Corvette and Lamborghini speeding down the left lane, slamming into a gray car and other vehicles in front of it. Ta.

The Corvette pulled over to the side of the road after the accident, but the Lamborghini was heading in the opposite direction in one of the freeway lanes. Multiple men were seen getting out of the car and leaving the vehicle on the road.

The Dallas Morning News reported that Rice was involved in a speeding Corvette along with a Lamborghini.

However, FOX 4 Dallas reported Monday that an attorney representing Classic Lifestyle confirmed that Rice had rented a Lamborghini SUV from the company. According to company policy, he was supposed to be the only one driving the car.

Dallas police also told Fox News Digital that the occupants of the Corvette and Lamborghini fled the scene of the car crash without checking to see if anyone needed help or providing information to the victims.

Two drivers of the car required medical treatment for injuries, and two others were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Rice was born in Philadelphia, but was born in Texas. He played high school baseball at Richland High School in Richland Hills before he enrolled at SMU North.

The Chiefs selected Rice in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and he gradually became one of Patrick Mahomes’ most reliable receivers in a year where the true No. 1 was under the radar.

Rice had 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie season, capped by a Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers.
