Chiefs’ Rashee Rice sued for $1 million by 2 ‘severely injured’ victims in Dallas car crash

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Lachie Rice is being sued for $1 million by two victims of a car crash in Dallas earlier this month.

Rice and SMU cornerback Teddy Knox are being sued by Edvard Petrovsky and Irina Gromova, whose attorneys reportedly filed the lawsuit Thursday in Dallas County Court. FOX4 News.

Petrovsky and Gromova were riding in a 2022 Lexus 350 SUV when they were rear-ended by Rice and Knox. The Lamborghini Urus that Rice was allegedly driving was traveling at 119 mph seconds before the March 30 crash, according to an affidavit obtained by The Dallas Morning News. did.

Knox was reportedly driving a Chevrolet Corvette going 116 miles per hour, but slowed to 91 miles per hour a second before the crash.

The complaint in Dallas County Court states that Petrovsky and Gromova “suffered serious injuries from the tremendous force of the high-velocity impact.”

It also pointed to how Rice, Knox and other passengers involved in the crash allegedly left the scene without offering any assistance to the injured.

According to FOX 4 News, the complaint states: “The defendants intentionally and intentionally caused injuries to the innocent victims, even as they called for emergency assistance and were in a state of shock and desperately tried to get out of the destroyed vehicle. “The suspect fled the scene, evading the assistance of commuters who had committed the crime.”

Injuries include a traumatic brain injury, facial lacerations that required stitches, bruising and internal bleeding, according to the complaint.

Petrovsky and Gromova are seeking damages for medical treatment, physical pain and suffering, emotional distress and property damage.

Rice, 23, turned himself in at the Glen Heights Police Department on Thursday. He is charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision with serious bodily injury and six counts of collision with bodily injury.

Knox, a sophomore at SMU, turned himself in Friday and is facing the same charges as Rice. The player has been suspended by the football program, but declined to comment further.

Rice apologized last week and took full responsibility for his role in the incident.

“I take full responsibility for my role in this matter and will continue to cooperate with all necessary authorities. I offer my deepest apologies to everyone affected by Saturday’s accident,” Rice wrote.
