Travis Kelce, star tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and boyfriend of pop star Taylor Swift, has finally broken his silence about the NFL's terrible start to the season so far this year.

The Super Bowl champion has received plenty of criticism for his soft start to the 2024 NFL season, with many accusing him of globetrotting, acting in Hollywood and paying attention to Taylor Swift rather than football.
But despite only 8.6 yards per reception this year after averaging 10 yards in the past, Kelce himself feels like he's doing OK, and so does the team.
“I've done a lot of catching in this league. I don't care about catches or yards or anything like that. I have the most fun when the ball's thrown my way. Who wouldn't?” Taylor Swift's boyfriend said on the podcast.
“It's all about execution and doing everything you can to win football games is always the goal. I think everybody saw that I tried to do too much in the fourth quarter and on a crucial third down before I dropped the ball,” he added. “Probably the most important thing for me is to play in big moments like this.”
He went on to allude that he feels opponents are trying to contain him, which has led to his dismal performance so far this year: “I don't think the way we're playing defense right now gives me many opportunities to play on the field, but I'm not going to use that as an excuse,” he said.
But Kelce assured fans that they are “moving forward” and “fine-tuning” their game.
“I'm just going to continue to try and contribute to the team in that respect, knowing that I've been a weapon for the team in the past. Now it's just a matter of everybody fine-tuning their game in the right direction,” he said.
“Whatever it is, it's football, baby,” Kelce insisted. “I'm not even bothered about hitting targets or anything like that. I just want to have a successful offense. I think Pat's doing a great job right now of finding open guys and making the right decisions. And we've just got to continue to find new offenses, new players, new pieces. We're just finding ways to be successful throughout the season.”
But football analysts have noticed that Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn't been throwing as many passes to Kelce as he has in past seasons. So far, there's been no explanation from Mahomes, Kelce or the coaching staff.
