Child porn suspect from Massachusetts found hiding in Connecticut woods

The U.S. Marshals Service announced Monday that a Massachusetts man wanted by police on child pornography charges was found after months in hiding at a remote campground in Woodstock, Connecticut.

Stephen Labrecque, 40, is charged with child pornography, filming intimate parts of a child, intimidation of a witness, reckless endangerment of a child, intimidation of a minor, lewd conduct, assault and to a peace officer. He was wanted on numerous charges, including assault. Service said.

Police in Franklin and New Bedford, Massachusetts, were unable to track down Labrecque on their own, so they asked sheriff's officials for help, according to the statement.

Labrecque is in the custody of Connecticut State Police on suspicion of being a fugitive and is awaiting extradition to Massachusetts to face a number of other charges, the statement said.
