Child Star Danny Pintauro Reveals He Juggles Five Side Jobs While Seeking Acting Opportunities

Danny Pintauro Reflects on Financial Challenges Post-“Who’s the Boss?”

Danny Pintauro, known for his role as Jonathan Bower on “Who’s the Boss?”, has shared some personal insights into his financial situation years after the beloved sitcom ended. Fans were surprised to see him working as a delivery driver for Amazon, a shift that brought attention to the challenges many actors face today.

In a recent episode of the “Pod Meets World” podcast, Pintauro clarified his situation, explaining that he often juggles multiple gigs to make ends meet. “When I posted that picture for Amazon Flex, it honestly didn’t cross my mind,” he shared, emphasizing that acting is just one of several jobs he currently has.

Pintauro addressed the common misconceptions regarding earnings from his time on the show. He was just eight years old when he began acting on “Who’s the Boss?” and remained a key character throughout its eight seasons. However, at that time, contracts lacked legal measures for future earnings, leading to minimal residuals for him now.

Interestingly, he pointed out that his earnings from Amazon are “surprisingly good,” allowing him to make somewhere between “$80 to $100” for just a couple of hours of work. “We have to do what we have to do to survive,” he stated on the podcast. “We’ve got to keep moving as humans.”

Pintauro expressed, “We’re all doing it. I am not different from you in that sense.” He reiterated that he doesn’t rely on residuals, noting that the public often overestimates their value from shows in the ’80s and ’90s.

In a previous statement to People, he explained, “I invested a good portion of that money, but I also used a lot of it to pay for Stanford and to get through my early twenties, so it’s not like there’s just been endless money sitting there.”

Looking back, he mentioned that re-entering the acting world after a decade-long break has been challenging. “I’m reintroducing myself as an adult actor in an industry that looks very different than it once did,” he noted, adding that television production in Los Angeles has declined substantially since 2021.
