BEIJING — Chinese state media reports a possible death in a knife attack at a hospital in the country’s southwest.
More than 10 people were killed or injured in a “vicious assault” in Yunnan province on Tuesday, state news agency Xinhua said.
Guizhou TV posted online, citing unnamed officials, that two people were killed and 23 injured.
Guizhou TV Post reported that the suspect had been arrested. The attack occurred at Zhenxiong County People’s Hospital in Zhaotong city.
Witnesses told online news agency Red Star News that he narrowly escaped the attack and that a doctor was among the injured.
According to a Red Star social media post, eyewitness video showed people bleeding on the ground and an elderly person trying to help another elderly person.
