Gov. Kristi Noem (R-South Dakota) appeared on Fox News Channel to talk about the threat posed by TikTok and Chinese land ownership.
Noem said China’s goal is to “destroy” the United States, noting its presence not only in Big Tech but also in land ownership across the country.
Here are some comments:
NOEM: Well, first of all, Sean, that tweet and the TikTok message left on the senator’s voicemail are exactly the kind of actions you can expect when TikTok is involved. I mean, it’s owned by the Chinese Communist Party. Their greatest desire is to destroy America. That’s why we should be wary of the magnitude of their influence on this country.
They released a pandemic and a virus into the world at the same time they released TikTok, they spread TikTok, they went out into the world and they influenced our youth and our people and made them think that such threats are crazy. I made it. So it’s absolutely crazy that something like that is happening and TikTok was doing it, but that’s what you can expect from China.
This year marks my 30th year working on policy and egg policy. I am a lifelong farmer and rancher. I’ve seen China buy our fertilizer companies, buy our crop management companies as well as our chemical companies. They bought us, stole our genes, bought up our processing facilities, and are now targeting our land.
And when they do, Sean, they will take control of our food supply. And a country that can’t feed itself, we can no longer control our own destiny. So if you think pandemics are scary, imagine what will happen when they take control of our food.
This country is only three meals away from crisis. If they couldn’t put food on the table and the grocery store didn’t have anything family-friendly, people would break down and panic.
So wake up, America. China isn’t just doing one thing, it’s doing many things, spying on our military, building up our military, manipulating our currency, and stealing our intellectual property. . There was a spy in South Dakota this summer. They were spies who came to our state, inspected our facilities, tried to steal our genes, and pretended they were good actors. And a few days later, the State Department called us and said, “Did you meet with these people because they were spies?” They were there to steal all your and your company’s personal information.
And if you met with them, we would have to report to you, but thankfully we were refusing to meet with them all. But that’s what they’re doing, and it’s from every angle, and they’re intentionally crossing the southern border. Because their government is sending them here to spy on us. So I’m concerned that the American people still don’t realize this.
I mean, get a little inconvenienced and quit TikTok for God’s sake. So they are literally using it to change our minds and manipulate our ideas, ideals, and values. And our country is too important for that.
