If you find yourself needing to go while on the road, there might be good news ahead.
Chinese electric vehicle engineers are working on cars that come equipped with built-in toilets, transforming long drives.
These vehicles will have a small toilet tucked inside.
Ceres, a company focusing on luxury electric vehicles and smart technology, has recently received a patent for an “in-vehicle toilet” designed to slide under the passenger seat for easy access during trips.
A patent filed with China’s National Intellectual Property Office clarifies that this feature aims to address the toilet needs of users during extended journeys, camping, or even resting in their vehicles.
As if having a toilet in your car isn’t convenient enough, Ceres plans to have it appear at the press of a button or through voice commands.
This innovation truly answers nature’s call.
To minimize odors, the in-car toilet utilizes a fan and exhaust pipe to help vent unpleasant smells from the interior. It collects waste in a tank that will need manual emptying.
The toilet is also equipped with a heating element that evaporates urine and dries out waste.
When not in use, the toilet remains discreetly hidden under the passenger seat, making it space-efficient without taking up additional room.
However, Ceres has yet to confirm when these vehicles with built-in toilets will be available for purchase, leaving it uncertain if these luxury features will truly enter the Chinese electric car market.
The electric vehicle industry is thriving, filled with innovators eager to introduce the most exciting and futuristic features, ranging from flying capabilities over city streets to other cutting-edge technologies.
Although toilets in cars are quite rare, they aren’t entirely unheard of.
For example, a 1954 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Limousine was sold at Sotheby’s for nearly $150,000 and featured a toilet for passengers.
Next to innovator Joseph J. Musk, passengers could “handle transactions via a built-in phone before accessing a bottle from a gold-plated toilet-champagne cooler combo hidden under the seat cushion.”
It’s all quite fascinating.
