Fiat Launches Topolino Electric Vehicle in the U.S.

Fiat is set to introduce its Topolino small electric vehicle to American consumers, presenting a two-seat neighborhood EV that has a top speed of just 19 miles per hour and comes in at a price point that undercuts many used cars.

On Tuesday, the Stellantis-owned brand revealed that Topolino is now available for order at select dealerships across the United States. Prices start from $13,995, and options can go up to $14,985, not including destination fees.

While these figures seem attractive, it’s worth noting that vehicle prices in general remain high. According to data from Edmunds, the average cost of a three-year-old used car was around $31,548 in early 2026, marking the second-highest price recorded during that period, just behind the peak in early 2022 when it hit $32,164.

However, there are limitations to these lower-priced vehicles. Fiat emphasized that this car is meant for use “beyond busy roads,” like private estates, resorts, coastal areas, and golf cart-friendly zones.

The Topolino measures about 8 feet in length and weighs 1,073 pounds. It boasts a range of up to 76 miles thanks to a 5.4 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, which Fiat claims can fully charge in roughly five hours with a 2.3-kilowatt AC charger.

As a bonus, by the end of summer, owners will have the option to add a complimentary conversion kit that will allow their Topolino to function as a federally regulated low-speed vehicle (LSV).

This upgrade will raise the maximum speed to 25 mph, permitting use on public roads where speed limits are set below 35 mph. As the company noted, “The LSV is a federally regulated street-legal motor vehicle capable of speeds between 20 and 25 miles per hour. Unlike standard golf carts, which are limited to golf courses, LSVs can be used on streets with speed limits up to 35 mph.”

Fiat will offer the vehicle in two different body styles: the standard Topolino and the Topolino Dolcevita.

Features include an eye-catching Verde Vita exterior color, 14-inch wheels with vintage covers, LED lights, hinged windows, a digital cluster, storage bags, and ample luggage space.

The standard model comes with a panoramic sunroof, while the Dolcevita version features a retractable soft top and decorative rope-style doors.

“Topolino marks a new chapter for the brand in the U.S., distinguished by both size and purpose,” said Fiat brand CEO Olivier Francois. “With Topolino, we offer a sense of lifestyle and a reminder that mobility can be enjoyable, expressive, and wonderfully uncomplicated.”

Reportedly, the Fiat brand aims to broaden its customer reach in the U.S., and this launch represents a fresh electric model since the 500e.

The Topolino first appeared in Europe in 2023. Interestingly, its name translates to Mickey Mouse in Italian, harkening back to one of Fiat’s most iconic models from the 1930s.
