Cuomo Claims Musk Blocked Him After Heated Exchange
On Monday, Chris Cuomo, the host of News Nation, shared on his show that Elon Musk, the CEO of X, expressed anger in a direct message before deciding to block him on the platform.
Musk had made a controversial post about the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), referring to it as a “Hatred Group,” which seemed to hint at anti-Semitic sentiments. This post followed tragic shootings at a Latter-day Saints’ Church in Michigan. Cuomo indicated he would respond to Musk’s remarks, as they seemed inappropriate given the situation.
“The most powerful man in media wrote something that could lead to his firing if he worked at a reputable company,” Cuomo remarked, criticizing Musk for sharing a supposedly damaging screenshot from a Jewish group associating Christian beliefs with extremism after the shooting. “Everything about this is wrong,” he added.
Cuomo expressed a desire to speak directly with Musk about these issues. He mentioned feeling frustrated, thinking that perhaps he should have reached out sooner to avoid misunderstandings. He reflected on the importance of how Musk manages his platform and his communication style.
In a graphic presented during the show, Cuomo showcased what seemed to be their direct messages. He questioned how Musk could link the Michigan church attack to the ADL. “I think he’s missing the point about the implications of his statements,” Cuomo noted, suggesting that such references do not properly relate to the current events.
Cuomo also highlighted a previous exchange regarding Charlie Kirk’s assassination, where Musk allegedly implied threats from the left. Musk’s comments received a sharp response from Cuomo, who labeled Musk’s reaction as “silly” and argued that it contributed to inflaming tensions. He ended his critique by noting that X had not responded to requests for clarification on the matter.
