NewsNation host Chris Cuomo on Thursday argued that President-elect Donald Trump's defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris was due to a voter backlash against the excesses of liberal ideology.
Trump's election victory was due in part to increased support from Hispanics and black men. Mr. Cuomo, “chris cuomo project” suggested that voters voted for Trump over Harris based on “serious violations of norms” that they considered “unacceptable.” (Stream The Daily Caller's latest documentary “Cleaning Up Kamila” here)

“You're imposing new social norms on the people of this country. 'No, we're not, we're just doing the fair thing. Transgender people have rights too.'” Yes. , but is it fair to be told as if you have to be forced to accept and be indoctrinated with ideas you don't share? “That's not what we were doing.” is the way they felt you were treating them on this,” Cuomo said. “That's the story of women in sports. Like immigration crime, it doesn't happen often. It doesn't happen a lot. It's like, for them, the very fact that it happens is a serious challenge to the norm. It's a violation and it's unacceptable. And you think it's okay, and they believe it's wokeism running wild.”
“What is wokeness? They don't even know what it is. This is what they believe and it just won the presidential election,” he continued. “There are concerns that the economy will win the presidential election and all of that will fall under the umbrella of Wakeism. For those who voted for Trump, Wakeism is a set of ideas that undermine traditional values, but more The important thing is that new ideas are being forced upon us. Even if we don't agree with them, we try to make them ourselves. ”
Mr. Cuomo argued that his generous immigration policies were an example of “way-ism” that voters rejected.
“We don't have open borders, but we respond to the offer. And politics is about exaggeration. Politics is about persuasion. Politics is about using perception as a hedge against reality. Yes, and generally perception wins,” he said. “So when you take something that was working and put it back together and you let people flood in, you get ingrained in the idea that that’s how you want it to be. And then the Great Replacement Theory and all this shit comes in. But it is an extension of what they consider wokeism.”
“Yes, it's also national security. It's also its own immigration. But it's this exaggerated liberalism, this exaggerated laxity, this exaggerated law and order for other value systems. “It's alleviation,” he added. “That's what trans is. That's what censorship is.”
Former MSNBC host Chris Matthews also criticized Democrats' “open borders” policies on Wednesday, arguing that they “deeply angered” many voters and contributed significantly to Harris' defeat.
Additionally, Democratic strategist James Carville said Wednesday that the “woke era” was a factor hurting Democrats in this election.
“We got through it, but…the image that stuck with people was that Democrats wanted to defund the police and empty the prisons,” he said. “You know, the immigration issue was clearly another big mistake, but more importantly, it created a perception of anarchy.”
