Chris Evans has shared that his “priorities have changed” since he became a father last year.
At the Fan Expo Boston 2026 earlier this month, the Captain America actor discussed how fatherhood has influenced his professional outlook.
“I have a daughter now. I need a good reason to want to go to work,” Evans, 45, mentioned in a clip from the event that circulated on social media. “My priorities have changed a bit.”
The “Knives Out” star is awaiting his first child with actress Alba Baptista, 29. The couple welcomed their daughter, Alma Grace Baptista Evans, in October 2025 in Massachusetts.
Rumors of Baptista’s pregnancy began in June 2025 after her father, Luis Baptista, seemingly leaked the information in a comment on a Father’s Day post that celebrated his and Evans’ father, G. Robert Evans III.
He wrote, “Thank you so much, dear Chris. Your turn has come! 🥰,” apparently confusing the account for that of the “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” star.
Evans had shared in November 2024 that he “absolutely” wanted to become a father someday. “I hope so,” he replied when asked about following in the footsteps of his “Red One” co-star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. “The title of dad is exciting.”
Just days after their daughter was born, a source mentioned that Evans was “completely in awe of her.” Another insider later said he is cherishing every quiet moment and is filled with pride to be a father to a girl.
When news broke regarding his family’s new member, the couple was said to be “enjoying privacy and their special first few days as a family.”
In March, just under five months after welcoming their baby, Evans and Baptista made a rare public appearance at the 2026 Academy Awards, where they walked the red carpet together to accept their first Oscar as a married couple.
The couple’s relationship first gained attention in November 2022, when it was reported they had been dating in secret for over a year. Evans confirmed their romance a few months later by sharing a sweet photo of them on Instagram on Valentine’s Day.
They married in a small ceremony in Massachusetts in September 2023, later celebrating again with Baptista’s family in Portugal.
