Chris Sununu insists Nikki Haley ‘doesn’t have to win’ in NH

Despite past predictions that he could win New Hampshire, Sununu insisted he doesn't need to wait until Super Tuesday to start crushing former President Donald Trump.

“She doesn't have to win. I mean, no one goes from single digits in December to absolutely having to win in January,” New Hampshire's Republican governor said Sunday on NBC's “Meet.” He spoke on The Press.

“The fact that it could happen at all [is significant]. “Mr. Trump said he was going to lead and win all 50 states,” Sununu further argued, highlighting how he could win South Carolina in a month.

On Sunday, Haley received a key endorsement from New Hampshire. Labor union leader newspaper.

“[I’m not] Just looking at it now,” Sanunu said when asked about South Carolina. “It's really just one month left.”

South Carolina is scheduled to host on February 24th. Between Tuesday's New Hampshire primary and South Carolina, there will be caucuses in Nevada and the low-delegate Virgin Islands.

Nevada will host a contentious and tumultuous Republican contest with both primaries and caucuses. Haley chose to run in the primary despite having actual delegates in her caucus.

“Super Tuesday is probably where we have to really start winning states. But as long as we continue to build momentum in our home states, it's a great opportunity to turn things around,” Sununu argued.

There will be 16 Republican races on Super Tuesday (March 5), making up about one-third of the available delegates.

Sununu also ridiculed Trump's claim that he has executive privilege. His lawyers are arguing in the appeals court to dismiss four charges related to the 2020 election.

“We have to grant the president — any president — immunity so that he can act as he feels,” Trump said at a rally in Manchester on Saturday evening.

“Otherwise we're going to have a completely ineffective president, and we've had plenty of them.”

President Trump has long argued that presidents should be granted immunity for actions that “cross the line.”

“He was very serious and didn't make any stupid jokes,” Sununu said. “Everyone should be concerned about that kind of thinking getting into the White House.”

Sununu defended his past claims that he would support the eventual Republican nominee, even if it was Trump.

“This is how bad Biden was, how incompetent he was. This guy can barely get off the stage,” Sununu claimed.

The governor also emphasized the importance of defeating Trump in the Republican primary.

“It has to happen at the polling place. Don't sit on your couch. Don't wait for it to happen. Don't wait for outside factors or courts to take over. Get out there. You have to vote,” he said.
