Charges Filed Against Christian Barmore
It appears that Stefon Diggs isn’t the only member of the New England Patriots facing legal issues.
Defensive tackle Christian Barmore has been charged with one count of assault and battery against a family or household member, as stated in court documents from Attleboro District Court.
The allegations arise from an incident on August 8, where a woman who was dating Barmore reportedly had a confrontation with him over the temperature in their home and what to eat.
She claims that during the argument, Barmore took her phone from her as she attempted to leave. When she tried to call for help, he allegedly prevented her from doing so by grabbing her and throwing her to the floor.
According to her statement, when she tried to get back up, Barmore allegedly grabbed her by the neck area of her shirt but eventually let her stand.
The incident reportedly took place in front of their two-year-old child.
Following the altercation, the woman claims she and her child took a car arranged by Barmore to Delaware. Initially, she refrained from filing charges out of fear of retaliation but later decided to come forward in September. However, in an email dated December 4, she stated she would not proceed with the charges.
WCVB reported that “Criminal charges will be filed on December 16, and Barmore is scheduled to be arraigned on February 3, 2026, just days before Super Bowl LX.”
The New England Patriots released a statement acknowledging awareness of the situation: “The Patriots were informed of the incident at the time and notified the NFL promptly. This matter is part of an ongoing legal process. We respect that process and will continue to monitor the situation and cooperate fully with the league, but we have no further comments at this time.”
Interestingly, news of Barmore’s charges came just a day after it was revealed that Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs also faces assault allegations related to a separate incident involving a personal chef.
