Christian Horner demands ‘intrusion on family’ stops amid sexting scandal

Christian Horner has called for an end to “intrusions” into his family as the Red Bull Racing boss remains the target of a sexting scandal.

A slew of messages allegedly sent by Mr Horner to female employees were leaked hours after he was acquitted last week of an investigation into workplace misconduct by Red Bull’s parent company.

Horner and his wife, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, have three children, and the Red Bull racing principal held a press conference on Thursday, appealing to the media to leave the family alone.

“Obviously it’s been a very trying time,” Horner said. “I’m married and have three children, and I’m so grateful that I have a beautiful family and a very supportive wife when that intrusion involves your children and your marriage.” “We’re doing it,” Horner said. As reported by the Irish media “Independent”.

“I’m the only one named in this. So, of course, it’s very difficult. When children, families, parents are involved, it’s not very pretty.”

On Thursday, multiple media outlets reported that a woman who had been exchanging messages with Horner had been suspended by Red Bull Racing as a result of the investigation.

Mr. Horner continued to maintain his innocence throughout this process.

“The reality is that a complaint was raised and handled in the most professional manner by the group, the parent company, not Red Bull Racing, and one of the top barristers in the land was appointed. He saw everything. He considered all the facts, reviewed the case and dismissed the complaint,” Horner said.

“As far as I’m concerned, my wife has been amazingly supportive throughout this period. But enough of the intrusions on our family is enough. We need to move on.”

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has won the F1 championship three years in a row and has become so dominant that you have to bet around $900 to win $100 on him to win any race. There is.

At a press conference, Horner accused his opponents of trying to exploit media leaks about his alleged actions for their own competitive advantage.

“The only reason it got so much attention is because of the leaks to the media. It was tough, especially for my family, because everything was focused in one direction. And then what happened. And other people took advantage of it. What happened after that was that other people were trying to profit from it, which is probably a beautiful aspect of our sport. Maybe not,” Horner said.

Verstappen’s father, Jos, himself a former F1 driver, expressed concern that the Red Bull team would “explode” if Horner was not removed from the role.

At the press conference, Horner tried to be diplomatic about the star racer’s father, saying the two had spoken after Verstappen won last week’s Bahrain Grand Prix.

“I spoke to Jos after the Grand Prix and obviously congratulated him on his son’s performance. I think it is in everyone’s interest that we have agreed to focus on the future,” he said.

“We have a vested interest in doing what’s best for our son. We hope we can continue to provide him with a very competitive car.”
