Christian Horner’s wife Geri Halliwell in tears over F1 allegations

Red Bull F1 manager Christian Horner’s wife Geri Halliwell was left “in tears” after allegations of inappropriate behavior towards a female colleague.

Red Bull said on Monday it was investigating Horner, head of the energy drinks company’s F1 team that includes three-time champion Max Verstappen, after he was accused of misconduct.

Mr Horner, 50, denies any wrongdoing.

Halliwell, 51, who became famous as Ginger Spice from the Spice Girls, stands by her husband. According to The Sunreported that she has told friends that she does not believe the allegations.

“Geri was in tears all weekend looking after her children,” a source close to Mr Halliwell told The Sun. “She claims Christians have done nothing wrong.”

The couple married in 2015 and have one son. They each have a daughter from a previous relationship.

Red Bull said outside lawyers were conducting the investigation.

“The company takes this matter extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as possible,” Red Bull said in a statement on Monday. “It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”

The Sun newspaper reported that the allegations could jeopardize his role as Red Bull F1 team boss, which he has held since 2005.

Horner guided former F1 driver Sebastian Vettel to four consecutive championships from 2010 to 2013.

Horner has been allowed to work during the investigation and is preparing for the start of the 2024 F1 season at next month’s Bahrain Grand Prix.
