Christian Pulisic leaves game versus Australia due to injury

Christian Pulisic Injured in Friendly Match Against Australia

American soccer player Christian Pulisic was forced to leave the field due to an injury he sustained in the 26th minute during a friendly match against Australia on Tuesday night.

The incident happened when defender Jason Guerría tackled Pulisic from behind, leading to medical staff coming onto the field to assist him. Not long after, Pulisic had to exit the game held in Colorado.

At 27 years old, Pulisic walked off alongside medical personnel and was quickly taken to the locker room.

He reportedly injured his ankle during the play, and various sources noted this injury. However, it seems Pulisic showed no signs of struggle when he played briefly in a previous friendly against Ecuador.

Guerría received a yellow card for the foul, and Pulisic was substituted by Diego Luna.

When Pulisic got injured, the U.S. team was behind 0-1. However, they managed to equalize with a goal from Haji Wright in the 33rd minute, and in the second half, Wright scored again, putting the U.S. ahead in the 55th minute.

Pulisic’s participation in this match was already in question due to ankle swelling, which had been mentioned leading up to the game.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino had expressed optimism about Pulisic’s condition after he participated in training, remarking on how well he seemed to respond, but this latest development is likely to raise further concerns.

As of now, there has been no immediate update regarding Pulisic’s status during the match.
