Christmas Day Shooting At Phoenix Airport Leaves Three Injured, Including 1 Stabbed

Three people were shot and one person was stabbed during a Christmas family brawl at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, authorities said.

According to reports, the disturbance began around 9:45 p.m. at a restaurant in front of security in Terminal 4, when someone pulled out a gun and began firing during a fight. ABC15.

Three people, including a woman who continued to fight for her life, suffered gunshot wounds.

Police later detained the man, who had at least one stab wound, and the girl, who was unharmed, in an airport parking lot, according to reports. CNN.

“I believe this was an escalation of a family dispute,” said Sgt. Myra Leeson told reporters early Thursday.

Four people, including the woman who was shot, were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Two other men were also shot, and all of the men who were stabbed are safe, police said.

So far, no one involved has been identified.

The incident forced the temporary closure of the terminal's security checkpoint and restaurant, according to airport officials and police. CNN.

There is no impact on flights, and the investigation is still ongoing.
