Chuck Woolery, original ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host dead at 83

Legendary game show host Chuck Woolley, the original host of “Wheel of Fortune,” died Saturday. He was 83 years old.

Woolley's death was announced on the X Post by his friend and podcast co-host Mark Young.

“It is with broken hearts that I announce the passing of my beloved brother @chuckwoolery. Life will not be the same without him, rest in peace,” Dr. Mark Young wrote.

Legendary game show host Chuck Woolley, the original host of “Wheel of Fortune,” died Saturday. He was 83 years old.

They immediately called 911, but were unable to save Woolley.

Woolley got a big break in his career in 1975 when he was named host of “Wheel of Fortune.”

He continued at that gig until 1981, when Pat Sajak took over.

Woolley would later go on to host shows such as “Love Connection,'' “Scrabble,'' and a revival of “The Dating Game.''

Chuck Woolley is survived by his wife, Kim, and children, Katherine, Melissa, Michael, and Sean.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.
