Church Attendance and Bible Sales Surge, Dubbed the “Charlie Kirk Effect”

Recent weeks have seen a noticeable increase in both church attendance and Bible sales, prompting faith leaders to refer to this phenomenon as the “Charlie Kirk Effect.”

According to an organization’s faith affiliate, “Church attendance has gone up by 15%, and there’s been a surge in Bible sales. Faith leaders are thrilled to see a new wave of young people turning to Christianity.” This sentiment was shared in a post on X-Post on Friday.

A particular focus is on engaging in open discussions with students at Utah Valley University, especially following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on September 10.

A California pastor, close to Kirk, has noted a sort of spiritual revival in the wake of that tragic event, highlighting a community response to Kirk’s passing.

“People have been approaching us, asking, ‘What’s the meaning of life? Why are we here?’” he mentioned. A report shared that this surge in interest has been recognized as the “Charlie Kirk effect.”

During a memorial held in Glendale, Arizona on September 21, Erica Kirk, Kirk’s widow, remarked that the United States is experiencing a “resurrection” since her husband’s assassination.

She shared, “In the last ten days, I have truly felt the mercy of God and His love. Following Charlie’s death, we didn’t witness violence or upheaval, but rather a revival, the kind my husband used to pray for.” She noted that many have picked up the Bible again after years of absence.

Charlie Kirk, known for his conservative activism as well as his strong Christian faith, often quoted scripture during discussions at campus events.

When asked how he wished to be remembered, Kirk once stated, “I hope people remember my courage in faith. That’s the most important aspect of my life.”
