California Governor Gavin Newsom recently delivered a striking impression of Joe Biden, making waves with his comments about former President Donald Trump during “The Siren Podcast.” He expressed strong feelings, even suggesting he might take aggressive action against Trump and a Republican associated with him.
During the podcast, which featured a liberal host, Newsom unleashed a passionate critique:
Newsom: This isn’t someone to take lightly. He literally took pride in what Putin said about him. Do Republicans really need more evidence? I’m urging you all to pay attention; this isn’t about what used to be the Republican Party. Trump is like an invasive species, and I see Republicans cowering before him. Look at Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who pretended he was conservative. It’s all a sham. There’s nothing conservative about what’s happening; it’s an outright manipulation of midterm elections, damaging democracy and the rule of law. I understand some may be sensitive about this, and I respect that. But we’re on very different paths. Right now, we’re responding to aggression with more aggression. I’m ready to put these guys in their place.
Jojofromjerz: Absolutely.
President Biden has previously mentioned that he aims to defeat Trump.

He later expressed some regret about his comments.
Additionally, Newsom criticized Trump’s use of the National Guard, suggesting he’s following “Putin’s Playbook,” and pointed out the militarization happening in American cities, particularly in Los Angeles, where he claims troops are being deployed to handle riots and violent incidents.
It seems some California podcasters believe invoking the threat of political violence could resonate with essential Democratic voters.
Trump has reportedly endured at least two assassination attempts, and there are recent memories of targeted attacks against Republicans, notably the 2017 incident involving a shooting by a disturbed Democrat.
