On Friday morning, members of the group known as ANTIFA confronted law enforcement outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) facility in Broadview, Illinois.
Around 7:30 a.m., a left-wing activist appeared at the site where state police and local officers were attempting to manage the crowd, according to reports from Fox 32.
Footage from Border Hawk shows officers working to push back the crowd. Many protesters were seen wearing protective gear and holding signs. In the chaos, shouts of “Fuck you!” rang out, and one person yelled at an officer, “Who do you serve?”
Another clip from Border Hawk shows officers instructing the crowd to disperse. Amidst the shouting, someone could be heard screaming, “You’re Nazis! Fuck!” directed at the officers.
A Fox report indicated that at least 12 arrests had occurred with five individuals facing charges. This protest marked the fifth consecutive Friday of demonstrations at a processing center in the Chicago suburbs.
“Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and US Customs and Border Protection Director Gregory K. Bovino were also seen on the roof of the ICE facility surrounded by armed personnel,” the outlet noted.
Breitbart News reported that President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order declaring ANTIFA a domestic terrorist organization. This order came shortly after the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Authorities discovered ammunition casings from the suspected weapon inscribed with anti-fascist messages and slogans, including “Hey Fascist! Catch!” and lyrics from “Bella Ciao,” a historical anthem associated with Italian communists and later adopted by Antifa groups globally. Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed that 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, the suspect, confessed to the shooting, leading prosecutors to file multiple charges against him, including seeking the death penalty.
In a separate incident, a gunman recently opened fire at an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas, resulting in the deaths of several immigrant detainees and injuring two others, as reported by Breitbart. This act followed repeated threats faced by ICE agents while carrying out their duties this year.
The report mentioned that the rioters chanted slogans like “I will kill the ICE!” and “Shoot the ICE!” outside the Broadview facility.
In the meantime, ICE has arrested over 800 undocumented individuals in Illinois as part of Operation Midway Blitz. This operation is a response to the tragic hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of 20-year-old Katie Abraham, caused by illegal aliens in a sanctuary city.
