Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday mused about actor George Clooney’s call for President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential race, calling the two men “rats.”
Trump posted on Truth Social:
So now George Clooney, the fake movie actor who never made a great movie, gets the role. Clooney betrays Crooked Joe, who is both rats. What does Clooney know? He is using the Democrat “talking point” that Biden, the worst president in American history, “saved our democracy”. No, Crooked Joe is the man who weaponized law enforcement against his political opponents, who caused the worst inflation in our country’s history, who embarrassed our country in Afghanistan, and whose insane open border policy allowed millions of people to illegally enter our country, many from prisons and mental hospitals. Crooked Joe Biden didn’t save our democracy, he brought it to its knees. Clooney should retire from politics and go back to TV. Movies have never worked for him!!!
On Wednesday, in what was seen as a pivotal week for Biden to bolster his faltering candidacy and solidify support among Democrats, Clooney published a high-profile op-ed calling on Biden to drop out of the race.
As Breitbart News’ David Ng reported, Clooney was all smiles at a recent fundraiser for Joe Biden in Hollywood, where he helped raise a record amount for the president’s reelection campaign, but is now withdrawing his support as the president shows visible signs of cognitive decline.

“Was he tired? Yes. Did he have a cold? Maybe. But it’s time for our party leaders to stop pretending 51 million people didn’t see what we saw. We were all so frightened by the prospect of a second Trump term that we chose to ignore all the warning signs,” he wrote, adding:
This is an age thing. Nothing more. But it can’t be reversed. We cannot win in November with this president. Not only that, we won’t win the House and we will lose the Senate. This is not just my opinion. It is the opinion of every Senator, Representative and Governor I have spoken to privately. It is the opinion of every single one of them, regardless of what they say publicly.
Ng reports:
…A widely circulated video from the Hollywood fundraiser showed Biden frozen awkwardly onstage and former President Barack Obama gently escorting him out by the arm. The video was one of many public gaffes by Biden that White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dismissed as a “cheap fake.”
Clooney called on congressional leaders, including Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries and Nancy Pelosi, to ask Biden to “voluntarily step down.”
“Will it be disruptive? Yes, democracy is disruptive. But will it energize the party and awaken voters who were already disengaged long before the June debates? Yes, it will,” Clooney wrote.
Clooney is among a growing number of Hollywood entertainment leaders and fundraisers calling on Biden to drop out of the race.

Others include Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, veteran studio president Barry Diller and Lost creator Damon Lindelof.
