CNN host Jake Tupper said Democrats don't know how best to oppose President Donald Trump.
“Democrats aren't clichés about that, but they're confused,” Tupper said ahead of Trump's speech. “They don't know how to become opposition.”
Trump spoke to both Congresses Tuesday evening in a vast speech that lasted more than 90 minutes.

“They're having a hard time trying to find a way to deal with Trump, and they're having a hard time figuring out who to suggest,” CNN's Anchor John King told Tupper.
Tupper explained that Democrats feel less lively and uneven in recent months compared to Republicans.
“I have to say, you can really feel the Republicans getting mad at their steps and Democrats have rather been disrupted,” Tupper said.
“Of course, given the fact that Republicans control the House, Senate and the White House, not to mention the conservative trend towards the U.S. Supreme Court,” he continued. “But beyond that, even when Republicans are breaking power, when Democrats are controlling things, you'll feel the energy very often.”

Tupper also spoke about Vice President JD Vance's role in the GOP, saying he brought “meteor rise” to power.
“It was a meteoric rise for the author and Marine JD Vance. He had just been elected to the US Senate, and a few years later he was selected as a running companion for Trump's candidates,” Tupper said. “And he's lined up with the president.”
