CNN’s Jennings rips leftist pundit over fear of Trump commanding military

CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings has educated fellow panelists who suggested that President Donald Trump was afraid of gaining control of the military.

Jennings questioned Wednesday night why Trump, who controlled the military, worried that if US military command was one of his presidential duties, would threaten the US Constitution.

“Do you suggest that the president is not a military commander?” Jennings asked Toule.

The exchange began with Jennings asking both former senior advisers of the Harris Campaign, Alencia Johnson and Toure, why they believe Trump is “shreddling the constitution.”

“My God,” Johnson squealed before Toule rang.

“We've put all our power in the administrative, legislative, and the FBI. Now we control the military,” he continued.

“Yes,” Jennings inserted. “Army commander, military chief.”

“We're silenced the media. This is what you do in a dictatorship,” Toule said.

After Jennings asked him if it implied that Trump had no authority over the US military, Toule said “I am proposing that the president be in charge of someone who violates the Constitution.”

“And at some point, this conversation will seem quite ridiculous to you. Toule continued, “Now you're gaslighting, but once you get to the actual rubber on this road, it's obvious.”

“I'm interested in this conversation. He's going to be in charge of someone who's in charge of someone who's violating the constitution. As Jennings asked, is the president in charge of the military? You said he'd be in charge of someone in charge of the military.”

Toure did not respond. Host Abby Phillip stepped in and confirmed Jennings' points. “The president is in charge of the military, and that's how it works.”
