Co-Host of ‘The View’ Suggests Unfounded Idea on Why Trump Sent Troops to LA

Discussion on Trump’s National Guard Deployment

Ana Navarro, co-host of “The View,” commented on Tuesday night that President Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard is an attempt to distract the American public from pressing issues concerning his presidency.

On Monday, Trump ordered 700 Marines to support federal national security efforts as unrest continued for the fifth consecutive day following the ICE incident at a Home Depot in Los Angeles. Navarro suggested that the President’s actions are meant to shift focus away from other controversial matters, including a public spat with Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

“I think this is something that’s very important. It’s a distraction,” Navarro stated during her appearance on “CNN Newsnight.” She also mentioned, “While we’re discussing this, we’re not addressing the absurd ‘Yomama is so ugly’ contest, which he had with Elon Musk just days ago.”

Continuing her critique, Navarro said, “We’re not discussing the parade he is organizing. We aren’t touching on the significant bill leaving 11 million people without health insurance or his failures related to tariffs and economic policies.”

The term Navarro used refers to a 1997 film where a president involved in a scandal attempts to divert attention from it to secure reelection.

Meanwhile, it was reported that protesters damaged at least five self-driving cars, with two being set ablaze. A video shared online showed an individual identified as Elpido Reyna allegedly throwing rocks at a vehicle containing an ICE agent. The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to Reyna’s arrest on charges of assaulting a federal officer.
