Chaos Erupts During Stolen Vehicle Investigation at Florida College

In a bizarre turn of events, bodycam footage from a Florida college campus shows a routine stolen vehicle investigation spiraling into chaos. The clips, which some might mistake for a scripted skit, feature a blue-haired student who confronts police with demands to be addressed by his chosen pronouns.

Last week, the channel “Inside The Blue TV” released the footage from February, which quickly garnered attention across various media platforms. The video, lasting about ten minutes, starts with an officer entering a building at the University of Central Florida.

As the officer approaches a student, he asks, “What’s the problem?” to which the student, identified as Jarrett Vick, responds loudly, questioning why the police allow “those kids” to remain on campus.

Vick, dressed in a black “Star Wars” shirt, black shorts, and wearing a feminine blue bobbed wig, demanded that the officer address him using the pronouns she/her. The officer maintains his composure, warning Vick to calm down or risk being detained under the Baker Act for a mental health evaluation.

Vick retorted aggressively, issuing a threat, prompting the officer to ask if he was being threatened in return. The exchange escalated, with the officer expressing that he simply wanted to resolve the stolen vehicle complaint without the added chaos.

“I don’t have time to constantly be abused!” Vick shouted back, leading the officer to call for backup, claiming Vick was having a breakdown.

As tensions rose, Vick screamed for the officer to use the correct pronouns, insisting, “She! Just say the right pronoun!” This led the officer to draw his pepper spray as Vick fled, shouting, “Leave me alone!” While filming the incident, Vick continued to express frustration and even accused the officers of abuse.

A university staff member tried to intervene, which only resulted in more anger from Vick, who continued to criticize the officer for mislabeling him. As the chaotic scene unfolded, Vick declared he wouldn’t be arrested but continued to argue about the use of his pronouns while being handcuffed. At one point, the officer relented, saying, “I’m going to spray HER,” to which Vick responded with thanks.

The footage captures Vick kicking at the officers while still partially restrained, insisting they were the aggressors. Once fully handcuffed, he complained about the officers’ actions and their failure to respect his gender identity.

“You escalated this,” Vick told the officers while being escorted out, claiming they provoked him and misgendered him intentionally.

The officer later explained the situation to his colleagues, stating he originally thought a fight was breaking out. Another officer mentioned that Vick had swung a fist at him while resisting arrest. Before the video ended, officers discussed arranging for medical and mental health treatment for Vick while in custody.

Vick told reporters afterward that he felt harassed by both law enforcement and the media. Court documents indicate that he pleaded not guilty to charges including battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. In his mugshot, Vick is seen without the blue wig and identified as male in official records.
