Police at Temple University in Philadelphia are investigating after two students allegedly impersonated US immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) agents in campus businesses over the weekend.

Temple University campus police said they received reports of people impersonating ICE officers on Saturday night with insomnia cookies on Cecil B. Moore Avenue.
The suspect reportedly had “ice” and “police” wearing a shirt in white letters, with one of the suspects recording the incident.

Police said the three suspects tried to enter Johnson and Hardwick residence halls earlier that night.
After a preliminary investigation, a temple student was arrested and took the temporary suspension.
Police have arrested 22-year-old Aidan Steigelman, who was charged with impersonating a civil servant, Fox29 reported. It is not clear whether Steigelmann was a student or a former student.

Fox News Digital has contacted Temple University for additional information regarding this issue.
“It's very troublesome and unfortunate to learn that this kind of behavior has reportedly occurred on our campus,” Temple Police said.
On Tuesday, the campus public safety department provided an update and informed the campus community that all three involved had been identified.
The suspect was identified as two students currently in interim suspension and former students who are not affiliated with the university.

“As mentioned in a previous email to the temple community on Sunday, impersonating a law enforcement officer is a crime,” the Public Safety Department said Tuesday. “This behavior and harassment of members of the Temple Community is not tolerated.”
The statement also noted that neither the Temple's Public Safety Department nor the Philadelphia Police Department received reports of federal ice agents on campus.
